Being a creative person, such as an artist or photographer can be tough, especially when you are trying to make a living from your creativity….ever heard of the starving artist?!

Many famous artists only became famous after death. They created from poverty, making their own paint, reusing canvas, and sometimes going quite mad in the process!

Not something any of us want!

BUT….the world can seem a scary, uncaring and unfathomable place for many. One where people put you and your work down. And any art work or photography is a reflection of you as the creator. You are baring your soul to the world.

Even when people like your work, they don’t want to part with the cash to buy it. Or the cash they do part with doesn’t reflect the time spent in creating (which includes the time incubating the idea).

As a creative myself I know how this feels. I know how our work is actually us…showing a deeper part of who we are. And when someone ignores, criticises or hates our work it can feel like a stab in the heart. I know how someone bartering the price down, makes your self worth plummet. I know that at times it really doesn’t seem worth the effort to do the one thing in your life that makes your Soul sing, because the world is turning it all sour.

But I also know this is all just perspective. There are many people successfully making a living from their creations, and loving life because of it! In my own research (into myself), I recognised the parts of me that needed help, support and healing, so that they put out a very different energy, and drew in a very different set of people. I found programmes/beliefs that I was living from, and changed them. I became so fascinated by how we can change our world, by changing ourselves, that I trained in many different methods of Energy work, and psychotherapy. And from this I created my own methods that act as a framework for anyone to use (but work best for creative people).

The point of this article is this. Your art is important to the world. YOU are important to the world. But the energy you create it from is what determines how it (and you) are received.

Finally, know that the way to create change is to stop doing things the way you always do things. So, try something new. Be aware of your reactions, actions, words, thoughts. Look at a different approach. When you sit to paint or go out to take photographs, change how you feel BEFORE you begin.

I promise you, the world will respond…differently.
